Jake’s career path began in Chicago, where he worked as a post-production audio engineer for the many marketing/ad agencies in the area. As part of the production team at Universal Recording Corporation, he produced radio and television spots for many large campaigns and brands. Early on, he developed a passion for merging audio, video and motion graphics together to tell a story on behalf of a brands voice. As the internet emerged and grew in bandwidth and ability, Jake was inspired by the potential of interactive broadcasting and digital storytelling.
In the early 2000’s he launched his own interactive/content development business entity in the Milwaukee area; Aptly called Lake Effect Multimedia. Lake Effect focuses on brand development, web design and development, video content creation and corporate curriculum development and production for product marketing and training.
As an educator, Jake has instructed other professionals and college students on the subjects of web design and development, motion graphics and user interface design. Over the last decade he has conducted classes at MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design) and The Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Working in education has proven effective in not only training and directing young talent but also in conducting research and introducing emerging technologies and their unique benefits to his clients.
Jake is also a published author at lynda.com, where he has written two titles that focus on motion graphics in an HTML5, mobile media world.
Jake has continues to leverage his experience “to bring the latest and best technical solutions to clients while providing not just interactive tools but long-term strategic marketing solutions.”
